The world of IT Service Management has been changing over the last few years ; its scope has broadened substantially. Our profession has become more about finding best of breed pragmatic solutions across different frameworks and best practices as well as to build bridges with other management areas to define common ground and work together instead of competing.

A rising trend is to apply IT Service Management principles to other service areas such as facility management and HR using the solid experience that has been built up around management of services in the IT industry. Tooling vendors are also supporting this evolution.

In such an exciting changing landscape I believe there is room for a vibrant community in which professionals, those aspiring to become professionals and even customers (i.e. the business) work together on expanding the profession of IT service management and helping it evolve towards Enterprise Service Management.

I am honoured to be part of an enthusiastic team that wants to make a positive contribution to the service management community in Belgium and beyond. I would love to hear your thoughts so feel free to contact me!

I’ve decided to join the ITSMF Belgian team in order to represent the client side of IT
As well I find it a great opportunity to be part of the Belgian team of such a well known and famous institution.
It’s a pleasure and honor to be a part of the stone and helping the group in order to deliver added value to the members

My experience in IT started more than 10 years ago and I had the pleasure to work in different sectors such as army, bank, pharmaceutical, construction and services.
As well I have worked and lived more than 5 years abroad in Europe in several countries and having gained experience in different IT functions supporting close or far the business.

Recently finished an executive MBA as I strongly believe that IT managers needs to understand business processes in order to be a strong partner and deliver added value to achieve business goals.
This can’t be done if the processes behind the business scene are not under control and aren’t efficient. Therefore my strong interest in ITSMF and my pleasure to help and being helped by the community.

I’ve decided to join the itSMF management team so the the french speaking community can also benefit from what itSMF Belgium has to offer. Having worked in the IT Governance and Information Risk and Security areas, I would also like to expand the boundaries of Service Management.

For more than 15 years, I have been offering consultancy and project management services in the fields of Service Management and Governance. I guide IT Departments in their strategic, tactical or operational plans and implement management systems pragmatically relying on my solid field experience. I am now Managing Partner of Be Your Best Ltd., founded in 2012 by my brilliant and beautiful partner (in life too), Valérie Guyaux. In January 2015, I founded PROCSIMA Ltd., a company that is specialised in Information Risk & Security, Governance and Service Management Services.

When I have free time, I like playing Rock n’ Roll with my musician mates, watching a good movie or TV series, having a delicious meal with friends, and improving my house near Liège.

I have been involved in Service Management for over 40 years and have had a great career from it.

I feel it is time to give a little something back so I will continue to support itSMF events in Belgium and internationally  to help newcomers into the industry.

I probably fell in the Service Management’s magic potion pot around 30 years ago, even if it was not then commonly called by that name. These years of IT experience, mostly closely coupled with the business (sometimes in very delicate sectors), led me to the conclusion that not only the business / IT gap needs to be bridged, in both directions, but also the chasm between Strategy to Tactical to Operations. The “why’s” and “how to’s” in this regard are almost impossible to learn from books, which are too fast to push forward complicated theories and advice, and very rarely simply calling upon common sense …. For years I have always been ready to provide guidance and support to people and organisations, who undertake to bridge these gaps. And this often starts simply by using the right words to pass the right message to the right people at the right time ….

I am therefore very happy to once again contribute to building itSMF by bringing “my little stone”.

I’m really delighted about rejoining the itSMF Belgium management team and helping to continue bridging the gap between Business and IT. I have more than 23 years experience in Service Management, covering areas such as project management, security management and people management.

I have managed local and virtual teams at a local and international level, and am passionate about lean, pragmatic applications of ITIL. I worked for big, intermediate and small companies at different levels and in different areas (Support, Process, Project, Business). I currently work for Computerland, an IT Service Company founded in 1980, as a Service Management Senior Consultant.
